Flint Assembly Has Built 16 Million Trucks and Counting
This is one of those stories that, if you’re from Flint, you read it and just kind of smile because yeah, this is what we do.
Flint Assembly Reaches 16 Million Trucks Built
General Motors just hit a massive milestone at Flint Assembly, we’re talking 16 million heavy-duty trucks rolling off that line according to ABC 12. And the one that hit that number? And that’s the part that matters. This isn’t just about a number, it’s about Flint showing up decade after decade, and continuing to deliver.
A Legacy of Vehicles Built to Last in Mid-Michigan
This plant has been around since 1947. Think about that. Nearly 80 years of people in this city putting in the work, building vehicles that don’t just look good, but last. Case in point, the guy who owns this new milestone truck, Andy Sanford, is replacing a 2016 Silverado HD that’s pushing ONE MILLION miles. That’s not luck, that’s quality. That’s Flint.

And there’s history here too. This same city helped build the first 300 Chevrolet Corvette models. It produced milestone vehicles like the Chevrolet Bel-Air and the Chevrolet Monte Carlo. Even today, Flint Assembly is still leading the charge, building the Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD, some of the toughest trucks on the road.
