
Kalamazoo’s Own James Denison Takes On Jeopardy!
A Kalamazoo resident and an employee of the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts is going to be a guest on an episode of Jeopardy this week.
James Denison from the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, who has a PhD & Postdoctoral Curatorial Fellow at the KIA, will be on an episode of Jeopardy on March 6 from 7:30 to 8 PM.

You can tune into your local television broadcast to watch it live, but it will also be streaming on Hulu and Peacock on Saturday, March 7.

Since 2023, he has worked at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts as a postdoctoral curatorial fellow and at Kalamazoo College as a visiting assistant professor of art history. At the KIA, some of his main projects have included the KIA’s centennial exhibition, Legendary Voices: Art for the Next Century, the museum’s collection catalogue 101 Legendary Selections from the KIA, and new installations in the permanent collection galleries.
Over its 40+ year history, there have been dozens of winners from all over Michigan who have been participants on Jeopardy.
Here in Southwest Michigan, Jennifer Quail from Dowagiac is an 8-time champion back in 2019 who won $228,800, making her one of the top female contestants in regular play history. Chuck Forrest from Grand Blanc is a legendary 5-time champion from the early days of the show as well.
All James needs to do is show up and win, and he can start his own streak.
