Support Maverick’s Journey At BC Burger’s Special Event
When local businesses rally behind people in our community, they use their platform to help others who are in need.
Recently, BC Burger at 1876 W Michigan Ave. in Battle Creek took to Facebook to urge the community to come together on Friday, October 3rd at Noon, to help them out in their store for a young man going through intense Chemotherapy.

There is an event page set up on Facebook that breaks down what this young man is going through:
Recently, Maverick’s life and ours took an unexpected turn when mom took him to our local hospital on Monday night for a fever and belly pain. Tests revealed a tumor on the left side of his stomach, and he was immediately transferred to U of M Mott Children’s Hospital.

It turns out little Maverick is going to be going through some tough challenges:
In just a few days, we learned the heartbreaking news that Maverick has neuroblastoma, and that it has already spread to his upper leg bone and pelvic bone. Maverick has already started chemotherapy yesterday 9/19/25.
The owner of BC Burger is doing everything he can to assist in any way the community can muster:
I’ve done a lot of fundraisers and helped a lot of people, but none more important than this one. This little dude is literally in the fight of his life, and his family is going through a lot, I’m just asking you to stop in and buy a burger, donate a few bucks, whatever you can do, would mean the world.
