Angelo's has been serving the Kalamazoo community Italian delicacies for decades. They have benefitted from their cozy spot in the plaza located in front of the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport where they attract locals and visitors. Angelo's was most known for their grinder sandwiches but also made very good salads, pizzas, calzones, and other Italian eats.

Recently, the owners of the restaurant began to think about retirement along with the inflating costs to not only run a business but one in the highly competitive food industry. They had decided that they would be closing up shop soon and many people were preparing to be without Angelo's.

When you visit a place so often the last thing you want to think about is that place not being open anymore. This has become a common occurrence for residents in the Kalamazoo area as they are seeing some of their favorite places close up shop on a regular basis. Luckily, fans of Angelo's won't have to think about last visits because a couple that has always dreamed of owning a restaurant is coming to save the day.

WOODTV reports:

An Italian restaurant in the Portage area known for its grinders has new owners. Angelo’s Italian Eatery held a reopening event Saturday to celebrate as Missie and Bryan Adams take over the restaurant that has served up grinders and pizza at 5401 Portage Rd. near I-94 in Kalamazoo for almost two decades. The former owners are retiring, Missie Adams told News 8, and her and her husband had always wanted to own a restaurant.

They don't want to make any major changes to the restaurant except maybe adding a catering service. The menu will be staying the same and one of the owners will be staying around for a while to make the bread for the grinders.
